Sop to mop

Sots not given slot

The ruling party has slashed MTC bus fares unannounced. The model code of conduct has not been violated! Okay MTC commuters' votes are assured. But what about our kudimagans? They outnumber MTC passengers. Why haven't they reduced the liquor prices. That would have fetched them the entire votes. Each and every one almost becoming drunkard with the Government taking over the Tasmac outlets, would it not be easy for the DMK to garner all their votes if the prices of bottles brought to rock bottom. Here are suggestions - Monitor for Rs 10 per quarter. And other brands for varying prices like Rs 5, Rs 2 Re 1 likewise. Advisors have not inculcated this in the mind of our CM. Most unfortunate. EC would not mind it. Because this would also be not announced. Our sots would not reveal this. They will a happy lot. Hail election, collection could be made later after their selection. Unholy alliances

No shame, puppy shame
People are a confused lot. Tamilnadu Brahmins Association Kancheepuram district backs L Ganesan of BJP in south Chennai constituency whereas the same outfit favours PMK's A K Murthy for Sriperumbudur constituency for this 15 Lok Sabha election. Their version: depending upon the merit of the candidate.
Rajiv killers supporters are allies of the Congress. LTTE supporters and opposers are friends. Whom they are fooling? Ultimately the people. They are a confused lot as to whom to elect. Politicians are all one when it comes to the question of power and pelf. They will stoop to any level. Even lick the boots of voters.
After coming to power easily the people are forgotten for the next five years. Again they will approach the same voters without any shame for the wealth amassed during their tenure was not enough and sky is their limit. No satiation. People, let them go to hell would be their attitude is their fortitude.

Stunt men defeated

Indefinite fasting

One party wants separate Tamil Ealam. Another going on indefinite fasting. Our politicians are 'dying' for Tamils of Sri Lanka. Our own Tamilians going into oblivion. Votes, votes matter, nothing else. Are our electorates fools? Our politicians believe so.
It is pity that Tamilnadu lacks men of calibre. Political stunts, no one to beat our rathathin rathams. Sri Lankan innocent Tamils should live in amity, that should be the only aim. Whereas terrorist in Tiger skin is eulogised by our so-called leaders. Is it out of fear for him? Rajiv Gandhi's fate should not be meted out to them - that fear lingers over their mind? They are cowardise then no doubt.
Why the hell then they voice for brutal killer? They crossed over to our land and left no scar of our great former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. It is shame the spouse of the massacred leader having alliance with the supporters of the evil force. Where Tamilnadu goes? It bleeds not by blood shedding but by our political leaders' political stunts for votes which ultimately ends in usurping power to amass wealth not satisfied with what they are plundered already. Hell with avaricious men.

Truth

Meiporul

'Epporul yarvoi ketpinum apporul
Meiporul kaanpadhiru'

said Thiruvalluvar. Politicians often quote Thirukural. The couplets come handy for them often. But in practice they go astray. Oorukku upadesam yaarukku venum? Thiruvalluvar Day they celebrate, Thiruvalluvar portrait they have in Government buildings as a showcase. Under his right nose bribe is taken and given. Valluvar vazhi thondrargal. Poor poet, if he had been alive he would have sure detested their designs.
Thirukural is another veda on par with vedic scripts. Who values it so?

namo bhavāya cha rudrāya cha namaḥ śarvāya cha paśupataye cha
namo nīlagrīvāya cha śitikaṇṭhāya cha
namaḥ kapardine cha vyuptakeshāya cha
namaḥ sahasrākṣāya cha śatadhanvane cha
namo giriśāya cha śipiviṣṭāya cha
meaning
Homage to Bhava and to Rudra.
Homage to the Lord of all sentient-beings.
Homage to the blue-necked one, and to the white-throated.
Homage to the wearer of braids, and to him of shaven hair.
Homage to him of a thousand eyes, and to him of a hundred bows.
Homage to him who haunteth the mountains, and to Çipivista.

Peace be with world oh Lord.

Little slip great flop

Living life is as being on knife

Please others in order to you be pleased. We are living among jackals, tigers and some human beings. These constitute society. Surviving in this atmosphere one should have shrewdness. In the moving crowd if one stays behind he/she will be trampled to death. Move along, move along, keep moving is the lesson one should imbibe.
Be a friend to a friend and a foe to a foe. Well how to identify a friend and a foe? Or else you will be yourself a foe. I am no a preacher and not qualified as one. But this is out of experience in life.
Traces of some words uttered may be hurting for ever and there won't be any remorse. This is great words of the great Thiruvalluvar: 'If you cannot do good to others at least do not harm them'. How many of us follow this. Some rejoice in others' sufferings. With lip sympathy they are at mirth at heart forgetting that the ill if had befell them how will be their position be.
Caste feelings - hatreds - as long as they come to stay, men cannot live in amity. There will be jealousy, scandal-mongering etc. On the spiritual side also nothing is perfect, it seems. There are umpteen faiths each one wanting to boost his belief and crush others way of life. Even among Hindus, Vaishnavite, Saivate, Madhwaite dishormony prevails. A Madhwacharaya follower feels his/her acharya should be alone professed and brush aside with contempt Saivate or Vaishnavite gurus and vice versa. Those teachers are gone for ever but the sects that are so-called followers fight among themselves. Religions little said the better. When will we be all one? That Almighty alone knows.

Time machine

Had I been in possession of H G Well's Time Machine

I would have put a brake on all the calamities that shook our earth - Tsunami, terrorists' designs. Why I would announced the results of the Lok Sabha election by travelling to future. Oh God has not blessed with me of the same.
I would have led Rajiv Gandhi away from Sriperumbudur on the fatalful day. I would have helped changes in India's future for the better. And if I had the power of superbeing I would not let the world go Utopian way, the philosophy of which professes that Gods are in heavan happy, unconcerned of the world and let it fend for itself. Why then God? But our philosophy speaks that the Gods are taking care of the people.
My wish I should not allow let harm done to women, weaklings and others. At the very sight of the same complete annihilation of the evil forces should automatically take place. Will that descend for the ascendancy of human beings? Let me know Oh Lord!

Time present and time past

Are both perhaps present in time future,

And time future contained in time past.

If all time is eternally present

All time is unredeemable.

What might have been is an abstraction

Remaining a perpetual possibility

Only in a world of speculation.

What might have been and what has been

Point to one end, which is always present.

Footfalls echo in the memory

Down the passage which we did not take

Towards the door we never opened

Into the rose-garden. My words echo

Thus, in your mind.

Kalyanthan kattikittu oodi polama

Marriages are made in haven

Are nowadays marriages made in heaven? When I came across an American couple I asked them when were your coupled. The goodlooking lady said he is my seventh husband. The husband in turn said she is my fifth wife. Nice, marriages are made in heaven is proven false. They asked me how long your were been married? Me: 25 year, Woh! we can't believe it. This is west versus east.
Oriental, occidental not incidental, some dental why should be bother. Hamburger, Salads, Beverages, Desserts Sauces & Dips and why the hell not Indian dish, I wish.
Likewise husbands and wives to their taste and we Indians crave for family life which is heavan.
Kalyanathan Kattikittu Oodipolama is their way of life and kalyanathan kattikittu serdhirupoma is our life style. Well which do you prefer?

Sri Lankan Tamils

Significant magnification

There being no second opinion on that the innocent Tamils not only in Sri Lanka, but also worldover have to live peacefully, why our politicians cry from top of the roof? But our politicians for political gain are making a hill out of mole, is the general feeling. Really are they voicing for them from their heart? It is highly doubtful. They are trying to make this a plank for this Lok Sabha election, particularly in Tamilnadu. On top of it these opportunists openly come out in support of LTTE chief Velupillai Prabhakaran, branded terrorist.
According to sources he enrols minors into his fold and keeps as shield by placing women and civilians in the forefront while fighting with the army. Is it not cowardice? This ethnic problem in Sri Lanka was made take to this shape, beyond remorse, for decades. And the LTTE leader is made hero by some.
If let and opportunity was available, no doubt, he would override Tamilnadu politicians and wellsettled in Tamilnadu and segragated the State from the Indian union and would have become dictator in our soil. Sure this would have happened. Then our politicians would have nowhere to go and they will be slaves in their own State. This they don't seem to realise.
Likewise Bagladeshi's infiltration in Assam is alarming and most of them have got voting rights, it is said. Aliens are slowly grabbing our land. If not checked in the beginning itself, now it is already too late, our country would be lost forever to fundamendalists from abroad. Politicians with nationalist spirit should ponder over this deeply.
Our defence should be strengthened that no foreign elements enter our country with ulterior motive. Already terrorists have dented holes in our security by successfully carrying out bomb blasts which killed hundreds in various Indian cities. This should not be let grow. Beware, save Bharat, save India. Ours is a land of peace don't let it go apiece.

Freebies for lullabies

Jananayagam vs pananayagam
Free colour TVs to the poor, dole to unemployed, pension hike to widows by the Government may have other implications, rather than they fetching votes for donors. They are like lullabies, the recipients happily enjoying viewing TVs, eating out of the dole without endeavouring for a livelihood. On the whole lazy people are nurtured.
Instead creation of more job opportunties, alms to the critically diabled would go a long way which will also be cherished. Flood relief, another belief of the parties concerned would be to their benefit. Flood relief has gone to really deserving of course and also to the affluents.
One thing Government can do. Let it provide all its subjects irrespective of caste, creed, religion board and lodging without having them to fend for themselves then the particular party will rule for ever. Another bonus - liquor also should be free unlimited for our perum kudimagans - no one to beat. Income generation, let it go to dogs. Economy go to hell. Power, position, fame, name alone would stand in the game. Vazhga Baratham, valarga arasiyal.

Good men in bad parties

Beware voters, be aware traitors

There are good candidates who really want to serve the people but the parties they are in are not so good. Parties are not for bifucating a nation in amity. But some parties want a separate state for themselves, aligning with foreign extremists, terrorists and those who value human lives as bubble in the air and rejoicing killings of innocents, without least realising that they themselves would become the targets one day.
Bharat, a great nation should not go apiece, is the feeling of real mother-lovers. How many are them and they can be numbered. Hell befall on the politicians who sell their mother country for their personal aggrandisement. Amassing wealth of some politicians has become their daily affair. Such politicians should be taught a lesson and they should never raise again. Will our people do it, poor people they do not know to distinguish between the bad and good elements in politics.
Yonder wanders not to slander asunder
Wonder if thunder struck the blunder
Binder not to plunder go under the evil
Splendour no more render thy to anvil
Bharat Mataki jai, Vande Mataram. Let every one live in peace. Identify devils who dwell among us and spell illwell on us. The thejos will definitely descend on earth to save the living beings. The day is not far off, take it from me.

Sariyana poti in arasiyal kalam

Political game is same
With the joining of seven parties headed by the BJP, the Tamilnadu politics is getting interesting. Will this be a challenge to others in the fray? Come what may the DMDK is going it alone. The Congress with the DMK alone with it may feel as if running chills into its veins. Undithered the DMK chief has said that Sethusamudram project would bring prosper to the State. How he alone knows. Inspite of experts in the navigation spelling out that the canal could hold only small ships on completion and would serve no purpose, the DMK insists on the project and is adamant and pressurises the Centre. Hindus enemy is none other than the DMK itself. Even if the other religions want to live in amity with the Hindus they will not be allowed by these petty politicians. They don't know other politics. Problems should persist for their survival.
And regarding the Indian money in crores with the Swiss bank, L K Advani is harping on bringing it into India, once when his Government assumes power at the Centre, shatters the hopes of account holders. Chidambaram says the UPA Government had already sought the information. But why then it has not happened. It is highly doubtful even if NDA forms Government at the Centre the Swiss account would not be amiss. As money power is so much that nothing, nay a finger could be raised against the corruption as corruption would bring forth more corruption. What happened to Bofors before?
Who is interested in the country than selves? This set up is so and no power on earth could correct this unless a Lalbahadur Shastri like personality is seated at the helm. Even he would not be spared. Poor India and the Bharat Mata has to fend for Herself. Her sons - politicians - are Her sins.

Ego enungo?

Sordid image that is damaged
'Chudarmigum Arivudan ennai padaithai' a poetic privilege of Mahakavi Bharathi that much liberty he has taken and at the same time 'Adakkam amarlul uyikkum adangamai aarirul uyithuvidum' was another poet's version. These have to be respected. The great Thiruvalluvar experienced life and presented it in his couplets. Some people feel jealousy of others. What others would have crossed to attain the stage that they have reached their present position has to be taken into consideration. That would have been immaterial to them. Simply that they should not thrive. At their age they have attained they might have come across various hurdles - infamous, famous - Oh God they don't seem to realise that.
Favouring some they like and ditching aome they don't like - is it fare? The particular individuals have their own chance in life. they have to see ups and downs. When will they realise this? Fed up with their character this may seem scattered thoughts but these have to be read between the lines. Such lingering feeling would follow. Let those get it set them others let them not and rest in peace. Do they? Philosophy is not thy child alone.
An assorted, disjointed ponderings of a pained mind.

IPL

IPL bowled over to South Africa

Fantastic, at last Indian Premier League has been fixed at South Africa. Terror threat decided the fate of IPL agsinst being played in India. Aliens are Rajasthan Royals. Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians, Kolkatta Night Riders, Hyderabad Deccan Chargers, Bangalore Royal Challengers and Kings XI Punjab to SA. We cannot say so.
If it had been played here it would have been a treat to our fans, What the BCCI has been doing so far?
(After thought)
South Africa where Mahatma Gandhi who stayed and worked for the slaves there prior Independence would not come to our rescue. After 60 years of Independence we cannot find solace in our own country and escaped outside. If the matches have been played in our soil what would have happened. Nothing with our military might should we not be ashamed of fearing terrorists who might have jeoparadised our growth.
Union Government is not strong. Hell with it. People have to mend for themselves. This is sportively intended not otherwise.
With IPL I have gone astray and not to distray.

Ssssmile

Smile is a mile away to some

Whatever joke is cracked poke not their nose to grin a little. Man alone can laugh which animals cannot puff. They have no ears to humour that happens to be a tumour. Well, what befalls if they enjoy a wit and doesn't fact enter into their wit, a bit. Can this be equated with 'Let the river flow in milk, yet the dog can only lick'?
On the other hand some are born to be cheerful. Laughing is a medicine, they say and to keep fit laughing therapy - session, many adopt. Relax their system by giving outlet to their emotions would make them healthy they believe. God has given the mouth not only to be a chatterbox rather a laughter on gags.
Always laughing also allows into others' mind that the person is insane. Of course all are not 100 per cent sane. Insanity to certain degree persists in all human beings. Hence smile when you need to and don't keep it mile away and laugh heartily when you are required to and don't stand aloof to everything but to bad alone. Smile please for nature is always taking a snap of you from its studio. That is way to be happy and gay.

LS election

I have people's overwhelming
support: AIADMK candidate

The AIADMK south Chennai Lok Sabha constituency candidate Chitlapakkam C Rajendran, a grass root level worker since 1980 held various posts in the party. Advocate by profession, says hopefully 'I am very familiar in the area. Old Tambaram with an electorate of over 9-1/2 lakh will vote for the AIADMK. Tambaram divided into three - Tambaram, Shozhinganallur and Velachery - where I have worked and Virugambakkam constituency added where I am familiar would favour me.'
The delimitation has done nothing harm, rather it favoured and very beneficial to the party.
People are fed up law and order, price rise, power cuts, murder, dacoity, Cauvery river water issue, Palar drinking water, Mullaiperiyar tangle and Sri Lankan Tamils issue for the past 2-1/2 years. The DMK is not in a position to solve these problems alongwith the Central Government. And if at the Centre, a Government that Jayalalithaa would favour came to power these issues would be tackled, he said.
At present he is Kancheepuram East district AIADMK secretary. He had held district joint secretary, St Thomas Mount union AIADMK secretary, union AIADMK party joint secretary, Chitlapakkam Town Panchayat AIADMK secretary posts. He held the Government posts of St Thomas Mount panchayat union council president, Chitlapakkam town panchayat council vice president and member, CMDA.
He had been jail on various occasions. Once when he protested when a false case was foisted against Jayalalithaa and took part in demonstrations announced by the party chief, he professed.
When asked whether his party would emerge victorious in all the 40 seats. He replied in the affirmative. And what would the strategy adopted by the AIADMK with the Centre, when encountered, he replied the decision would be Amma's.
'If as per Jayalalithaa's wish a Government at Centre is formed, everything will be in order,' he firmly said.

Political rollicking

Election, selection, collection

Actor Karthik's Akhila India Nadaalum Makkal Katchi with the actor taking on Vaiko at Virudhunagar. Vaiko, a seasoned politician, facing Karthik, a recent political entrant, sariyana koothu.
Akhila India Lakshiya Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam of Vijaya T Rajender who is to announce more than 10 candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha election in which one would taste his commotion out of emotion for the promotion of his party, submission, admission, revision, precision, examination and transmission would galore in his declaration.
'Valarthenda thaadi, nee oru pedi, odi po nodi pothil, naadi varuvar makkal thedi ah ah ah!' will be tryst. Tanda nakka, tanda nakka, tanda nakka.
Sarath Kumar's AIl India Samathuva Makkal Katchi is contemplating to fight it alone or sit tight without entering the fray as the arena does not seem grey.
Other main parties as the BJP, the Congress and regional ones allying, tallying number hope to outnumber seats the other side would possibly get. Did you get it want to bet?
Good political tamasha adra chakka, adra chakka.

'Cho' it is not rain

Enagey Brahmenan?

Cho's Engey Brahmenan search, he serialised in his Tughlak now continues in Jaya TV. What a pity. Once more the readers have to undergo the torment in visual media. Brahminical language is abundant in the serial. Ashok, the character is made to undergo sea change. He is Vasishtar incarnation, acording to the story.
Earthly pleasure he shuns, spiritual treasure he guns. Cho Ramasamy has created a character lokalike Periyar's disciple who interpolate the beliefs of ardent devotees and followers of a faith. He makes fun, who is convinced with convincing explanations by Tughlak editor. It seems he is half convinced, the viewers are made laughing stock. A search in vain it seems. What he tries to convey through this serial is anybody's guess.
He uprights religious rituals and at other time, he himself ridicules them it seems. Never he tries to demean the beliefs of one sect. Yet the serial goes on and it might be premature to comment on it. Out of anxiety this little endeavour of analysing, not analysing, to some extent reasoning out was attempted which may be considered by the author.
Poor parents of the hero and his girl friend find it difficult to (under)estimate him. The bhagavathar who wants him to be seen in the up above the world so high himself finds self defeated. There is no villain as such in the episode and seemingly villain is Ashok himself to himself.
Mother is as mother and the father wants his son to lead a life as other youngsters but the son is sun to be shone forever for he detests wordly pleasure and longs of eternal knowledge which has been eluding him. It is hoped that at the end of the serial he would attain gnana which is the happy end of such serials. This is no critical review but the wish is in every one's mind that the boy should shine as star in his haven, rather heaven.

L Ganesan

'Selection to win
is BJP's strategy'

'We are contesting 11 Lok Sabha seats and one or two may be added and it will be decided as to whom to vote in other constituencies', BJP State president L Ganesan said. He said he was a humble servant of the party, working areawise and contesting this election was not his decision, the party wanted him to fight the election from South Chennai and he abided.
'We have to contest not for contest sake. Selection to win and winnable seat we are contesting,' he elaborated to me in a chat at Kamalalayam, the BJP headquarters in Chennai.
This being Parliamentary election the choice was between the DMK, the AIADMK and the BJP. BJP was the only nationalist party and it had a good chance, Ganesan added. In fact the BJP was benefited due to delimitation. The Congress would not get a majority of its own as it was fighting very few seats when the vastness of the nation was concerned. NDA would sure capture power at the Centre and Advaniji would be Prime Minister for another five years. A minimum of 200 seats and more the BJP would win and even it would not be a surprise if it emerged a single majority party.
South Chennai, an elite constituency, according to him, where good number of educated voters were there, middle class with nationalist spirit who would prefer the right candidate, he said.
He appealed to South Chennai voters to vote for him and wished everyone exercise his/her franchise without shirking one's responsibility. Our country's destiny rested in the hands of the people and while voting think about the candidate, the party and the candidate's previous achievements and the election manifestos.
People while voting voted to winnable candidates rather than to who should win. BJP, the only party which never eulogised leaders, gave importance to the nation rather than to party or persons. The slogan would be 'Bharat Mathaki jay' and in any of its headquarters it would have no leaders portraits or statues, excepting Bharat Matha statue with country in the forefront, he said.

Kamban En Kadhalan

Kamban En Kadhalan
Kamba Ramayana
Sivakumar parayana

Has Kamba Ramayana been so simplified and spoonfed to the audience is very much doubtful.
Actor Sivakumar's Kamban En Kadhalan telecast in Vijay TV on Chithirai Thirunal to the gathering of college students has glorified the epic. It was simply an extempore.
Sivakumar's entry into the tinsel world through Uyarndha Manithan when he was 19 years old, with now he standing Uyarndha Manithan, was that an indication for this eminence?
His presentation of Kamba Ramayana with present-day context to the students' rejoice is sure a novel way of treating the epic.
He quotes Kamba Ramayana as if he himself has written the epic. Avvai Natarajan said as his face is his mind. What more than you expect.
It was narrated that Ramar never defiled Kooni for her to take revenge on Sri Rama while King Dhasaratha announced his enthroning. He has aimed at the rose which fell on her and she had vowed to take vengeance against him.
Soloman Papahaia said Professor Kamban cannot imagine and he instigated youngsters to go in for reading Ramayana.
Thamizharuvi Manian glorified the actor for the vernacular excellence the actor possessed in himself as more than 3,000 college students were held spellbound by Sivakumar's Ramayana narration.
Ilampirai Manimaran said the orator has simplified and offered the crux of Kamba Ramayana to the listners.
When Kumbakarna in his deep slumber was awakened, Kambar writes, 'Urangukindra Kumbakarna ungal maya vazhvellam irangukindrathendru kana ezhundhirai ezhundhirai karangu pondra vilpiditha kaladhoothan kaiyelae uranguvai uranguvai inikidanthu uranguvai.' What actually happened.
Many have endeavoured to discourse on Kamba Ramayana but this attempt by Sivakumar, not as a discourse, speaks volumes and it shows his deep study and understanding of the epic Ramayana. This is an eyeopener to the so-called Ramanaya upanyasakars.
Actor Sivakumar is a resident of Krishna Street, T Nagar.

Letter writing is an art

Cultivate, develop narration

I remember having read in my school on letter writing. Mere writing letter that anyone could do. But you will have to get the effect on the recipient. That effect may be one of joy or bringing tears into their eyes.
To a person thousands of miles away, you bring forth the prevailing condition at your end. Like say, a dad writing to his daughter who is far off. 'Old grandma is sitting in the chair in her bedroom. She is trying stitch her torn sweater and with her poor eye sight, she finds it difficult to get the thread into the ear of the needle. I happen to see the predicament of hers and help her in achieving her end.
'Tommy is playing in our foreground. While I am writing this letter to you, the time here is 4.15 pm. Your mom and brother are sitting beside me. Since you left Bharu your brother Mani who used to go along with for learning car driving does not show much interest. He is awaiting your arrival from your assignment next month. We are all anxious to see you. Keep in good spirit.'
By this letter the young lady would visualise and cherish her memory. The letter writing should be such that the reader of the same feels at home. The loneliness would be forgotten and she would feel among her family members.
Am I right?

Sonnet

Happy Tamil Year

Welcome Chithirai
Gone to some nithirai
A State helmsman Minister
Cheap he became, sinister
Not he satisfied with his posts
Wounds the feelings, he boasts
Hell with his gimmicks
Fell the feller of comics

Wanton liar whom he cares
For we to bear with his dares
Dares he to meddle with others
Hindu religion which not bothers
Heads of States anywhere kindle?
Except a man who doth swindle.

Of Nagesh

Nagesh the comedian, no one his near median
Thai Nagesh par excellence in acting. In either pensive melancholic mood or in joyous mood he was the one and never anyone. With one Maadhu character he reached his eminence. Later comedians went in for cheap gimmicks, with slapping each other, silly jokes that would evoke irritation rather than hilarious moment. As Dharumi in Thiruvilaiyadal he has acted equal to Chevalier Sivaji Ganesan. He was easy with every hero he paired with. Neerkumizhi where as a patient destined to die, he brought tears in eyes of audience. It is wondered even if the great actor Sivaji could match with him. So a gunachitra nadigan. It is a pity that one's greatness comes to the fore after his demise. In his life time he was not honoured with befitting titles, when many others with not so remarkable achievements were bestowed with. Ulaga nayagan Kamalhasan rightly recognised his dexterity and offered him a character in all his films. His death has created a dearth in the tinsel world of real comedians. He has acted with many of heros of yesteryears. And his Server Sundaram was a great piece. His ascendancy in cinema at the cost of his mother's life was portrayed in the film and one can visualise in real life the same. His personal life was a total failure - loss of mother, love failure - and yet he grapples up with the situation. The audience would have returned with a heavy heart. The list goes long, a few of which was narrated in this story for the viewers to relish. Nagesh lived, enlivened his fans is the fact that no one can deny.

Election in Demo(n)cracy

Selection through election, bane or boon?

The Lok Sabha election for the 15th after Independence is round the corner. Parties innumerable, candidates unnumberable are vying with each other to be seated in Parliament. Well, coming to the question - elections bane or boon. They are boon to the parties and candidates and bane to the people.
Boon in the sense, simply they mint money and stash it into Swiss Bank. Bane to the citizens as they are again cheated with tall promises as bringing heaven to the earth. Why in India so many parties - one in each street. In US there are two parties. Does not the Government run there. That apart they are much much developed. India is ruining due to n-number of parties and candidates only with the aim of becoming rich. That is the politics that is being hapenning in our demoncracy, {sorry for the 'n' that crept inadvertantly between 'demo' and 'cracy'} so-called democracy.
Politics is business in India. No politician is an exception. Even if any he/she would go into oblivion and that person would be branded not fit for politics. Many, many politicians have garnered wealth for 10 or more generations and still amassing and as in olden dynasty rule nurture their wards into politics to become Chief Minister/Prime Minister after them. Where is democracy. As said it is really not for the people, but 'far' the people, not of the people but 'off' the people and not by the people but to 'buy' the people. Poor people they do not know the tactic of topple the incorrigible politicians. Hey ho to demoncracy, sorry again democracy. God save common man.

Rajinikanth in politics

Never ever enter politics, my dear sir
Super star Rajinikanth has been elusive to politics. Why? Is he super star in tinsel world alone? Stars cannot shine in politics. He has got it into his mind straight. They (the fans) tried to drag him into the whirlpool. He tactically evaded. He had had his ambition, but having learnt its mirth, rather dearth, he wisely swayed away from it.
Had he floated a party of his own and become Chief Minister or Prime Minister one would wonder if he had not his headquarters at Himalayas. He is a believer in God to the core. Nothing can shake his belief. He is destined to it. Soul cannot turn foul. Come what may he is stay put on his mindset.
Cinematic is not his real life that is reel life. Reel and real cannot go together. He has fully got into his every vein. And so he is super star and not duper scar. Let him not enter politics. It will let him down for sure. Keep it up Rajini sir.
No offence, only to your defence and if it sounds suspense my penance. God be with you.
And . . .
Vijaykanth has his DMDK and Sarath his AISMK and would they have gone into oblivion if Rajini had entered politics in full swing? It is a moot question. Arasiyalil idhellam sagajamappa. 'Politics is last resort for scoundrel', according to lexicographer Samuel Johnson. Is it so? So so.

Dasavatharam

Why my intrusion?

Sri Mahavishnu's ten avathars according to mythology were to correct and lead the human beings on right path. Whereas Ulag Nayagan Kamalhasan's Dasavathar was a cinematic entertainer - a mixture of modern scientifically advanced world and mythology of the yore. Can chemical war be compared to alakala visham when the parkadal was churned with Vasuki as chord and Meru as chruning stone? Devas on one side and Asuras on the other were vying with each others for the amritha that emerged later.
The remake, rather dubbing of the Tamil version into Hindi would have a well reception as the north have the both extremes of believers and non-believers. And in the nothern hemisphere, I swear are the Mathura Vrindavan, Mithila, Ram Janmabhoomi, Rishkesh, Kailash and other holy places in abundant. Hence this, my small endeavour in eliciting in my way the avathars and mentors of this globe.

Go ahead spiritually!

Flabbergasting flibbertigibbet
is not Krishnaveni

Is it simply to add to the number ten, the Nambi, a controversial, avatar of twelfth century inducted in the Kamal film Dasavatharam? It raked flutter among the Hindu outfits. However, the court intervened and gave a clean chit to the release of the film, delivering that it has not got any connection with Lord Mahavishnu and the Dasavatharam title hasn't any copyright.
The Nambi episode, whether history or figment of the writer's imagination of clash between Saivites and Vaishnavites does not go with the story. It stands detached.
Sodium Chloride (NaCl) is held above Lord. The virus has to be immersed in mere salt. The salt insufficient story winds, unnecessarily to 12th century, to US, Japan and India. Finally the tsunami which was a killer of lakhs turned saviour of crores. Anyhow, God's, sorry Kamal's design is to kill as little as possible.
Narasimha Rao or Venkoba Rao, Balaram Naidu wants to apprehend the 'criminals' ravodu ravaga - not withstanding RAW. American CIA, Indian intelligence sleuths had to vie with each other to catch the 'terrorist'. At last it was Dr Govind who had to come to the rescue of humankind - natural disaster not to be blamed.
Kamal's talent, genius are evident in every frame, not an iota of doubt over it. Make-ups also distinguish ten Kamals, upto the mark. Voice modulation, a very good endeavour, succeeded almost. The Tamil mixed Telugu accent of Balaram Naidu was superb and evoked humourous comedy, a cinematic, but an officer in police force could not be afford to be so.
Krishnaveni, mother of Aravamudhan who is believed dead, puts up an act extremely appreciable, as mentally disturbed.Hats off to Kamal, sorry Krishnaveni. Japanese karate master excels in his short stint. On the whole, the film is for view one time and one time only.

Lok Sabha

R S Bharathy ready to move to big stage
Chennai, April 7:
He has been chairman of the Alandur Municipality for four times on the trot. Now, R S Bharathy, long-time legal wing secretary of the DMK, gets an opportunity to prove himself on a bigger stage — the nation’s Parliament, if he gets elected from South Chennai Lok Sabha constituency in the forthcoming elections. The delimitation process has brought in several changes. So long, he was confined to Alandur Municipality, now he has to concentrate on more areas including Velachery, Medavakkam, Triplicane (part), Mylapore, Virugambakkam, West Mambalam, T Nagar, Saidapet, Thiruvanmiyur, Sozhinganallur and Uthandi on the ECR stretch. He may have more on his plate, but Bharathy is not flustered and hopes to do his best, if he gets elected from the high-profile South Chennai constituency.
Being a popular personality in Alandur and nearby areas, the DMK veteran is confident that his good work as the Municipal Chairman will bring him votes. Also, the locals feel they will be losing a hard-working Chairman (if he goes on to become an MP).
To a query on whether he would accept a Ministerial berth if the UPA returned to power at the Centre, all he would say was: ‘I don’t want to comment and invite trouble.’
Asked how he would go about his job if he emerged victorious at the hustings, Bharathy said, ‘I will study the situation and take action.’
Sharing his thoughts with News Today, the well-known advocate, said the people’s expectations made him take the decision to contest the Lok Sabha elections. Further, he said as a labour leader, he was cajoled to contest from North Chennai for which he had applied. ‘Yet, the demands from advocates could not be neglected, so I also applied to contest from South Chennai.’
Bharathy is grateful to the DMK high command for nominating him to contest from South Chennai, a seat hitherto held by Union Minister T R Baalu, who will now seek election from Sriperumbudur.
